I have had the blessing of many people being a shepherd of sorts in my life. To me, having someone be a “shepherd” means that they are there to help and guide me as I grow and mature. The two people who have done this more than anyone else are my parents. They have been there to help me make the right decisions, have taught me moral lessons, and have guided me along the path to leading a good life.
My parents have always been there to teach and guide me by showing compassion, love, and care but also by teaching me life lessons that I might not like. Nobody is perfect, especially children. As a child, I often disobeyed and strayed from what was expected of me. I disobeyed my parents and sinned against God but my parents helped me get back on the right path.
Even as I grew older, I was still prone to making mistakes deliberately and unknowingly. My parents understood this time of learning in my life and did the best they could to help me continue along the right track. They were good shepherds to me because they helped and cared for me no matter what.
